We are compiling the email addresses of every Chief of Staff of every elected official in both the House and the Senate. Will you please commit to sending them a heartfelt email calling for the return of bankruptcy protections to the loans? I hope you all realize that whatever you want to see happen with your loans, that can/will happen when we get the LEVERAGE of bankruptcy rights returned. WITHOUT ANYONE HAVING TO FILE. Everything hinges on this. Please think about it. Please repost this, this and this.
Congress is on recess this month. They are back home. This is the month for us to push them hard...particularly republicans as they get into gear for the upcoming mid-terms. This is the time to make the sausage, folks...instead of being made into sausage!! I truly hope you are beginning to see the true importance of your actions. 8/5/2026 Wednesday Action! Good Wednesday, All!
The Secretary of Education sent a suspiciously weak letter to the colleges Monday. It was supposed to be her "throwing down the Gauntlet", but really read like something the colleges could have written themselves. Turns out, the letter WAS DRAFTED by at least 4 colleges Presidents. They are all in on it. Fake fights like these are what allow this loan scam to continue. We are sending STRONG LETTERS. We're asking everyone to send an email backing up this one that we sent over the weekend to Dick Durbin's Chief of Staff Will you please? He owes us. This one is very important. Will you also send an email like this one to the Pr.esident of Harvard University, Alan Garber? We sent him this letter (both email and hard copy) in April with a 3 month confidentiality clause. That three months is now expired and he has done nothing. So we need to hit him hard. These college Presidents need to be pushed. Very hard. They are the key players whose moral failing on this issue is most blatant. These are supposed to be good people with a mission to serve their communities. They are doing the opposite by ruining their communities in debt. This one is maybe even more important than the letter to Durbin. We simply have to fight, folks. No one in Washington is going to fight for us. We- each of us- have to fight this battle, which is your battle. These actions are the most efficient, effective use of your time for fighting for student loan justice. Please do you part.

After our members were interviewed in two feature stories at the Associated Pressand The Independent, we received MANY interview requests from local media, including Arizona, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and other places. See these requests on the Facebook Group. This is a good thing. The fact that older people now outnumber younger people with student loans was FINALLY reported by the Independent. It will only be matter of time until this becomes widely known. Very good. We are now 90% completed with our Gofundme. Very close. I'm glad to report that over the past 11 months, 977 people have pitched-in $26,482, which is almost exactly $2,400/month. The average donation is $27.10. So, we have Bernie beat by a dime :-) We are now 89% completed. If 200 people kicked in $20, we'd be done with this fundraiser. We have nearly 35,000 people just on this facebook group, so I truly hope that a few of you will step up, so we can take a break from fundraising for a couple of months during this critical time before the mid-terms. This has paid for this group to keep functioning (ie website, platform expense, email, subscription, phone, internet, and all other expenses to keep things running), as well as nearly my entire existence! If this is you, please remember that 85% of ALL borrowers are losing sleep at night (IE will never be able to repay their loans) . It's not us. It's this loan scam. Don't be too hard on yourself. We had a good week! See yesterday's livestream. We're featured in several major media outlets this week, including the Associated Press, the Independent, and other places. We have 3-4 new interview requests for people from Arizona, Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, and other places! We have to build on this momentum...our student loans depend on it- Things are worse for student loan borrowers right not more than ever, if you haven't noticed! We need your help more than ever. We are fighting our asses off on this end to very good effect, but we simply cannot do it without you. We're adding hundreds of members every day at the Facebook Group. Strength in numbers. We are REALLY needing to knock out our Gofundme. We 're 87% of the way there...Will you please help? We are featured, again, today in the mainstream media (the Independent). They FINALLY, AFTER 6 YEARS, broke the news that older borrowers now outnumber younger borrowers with student loans! This should have been the headline- Not super thrilled with the piece (they try to make our members look bad, frankly, by publishing opinions from people who get their paychecks from colleges and blame the borrowers for their predicaments), but I think/hope most people will see through that.
